Today's post is dedicated to life lessons. I've had a lot of lessons this year. I will be doing a post at the end of my trip regarding the lessons I've learned on the road. But for now I'm thinking that life lessons come to us everyday. We have a recognize them as such. If you don't recognize them you're doomed to repeat your mistakes or you might not recognize a positive lesson if you think all lessons are learned in pain or at the worst times.

"Life doesn't give free lessons to anyone. So when I say life taught me, rest assured that I paid the price." - Naguib Mahfouz

"Happiness is letting go of what you assume your life is supposed to be like right now and sincerely appreciating it for everything that it is. At the end of this day, before you close your eyes, smile and be at peace with where you've been and grateful for what you have. Life is good." - Angel Chernoff

Today we got up and took a walk around the Zion campgrounds. We had a long drive to our first stop at Hoover Dam. Arriving at the bridge we had to open the truck bed, as well as the camper to prove we had no explosive devices. We then arrived at the bottom of the bridge. We had to walk up a series of switchbacks to get to the bridge walk. The bridge walk is dedicated to Pat Tillman who had a promising career in the NFL, but chose to go and unfortunately die for our country. It was so hot we stopped twice to put water on the dogs' feet and to give them a drink of water. So funny...Jean-Luc befriended a lady at the top and kept going to her to have her pet his head. See, you never know what will make him bark - usually it is a male, but not always.

After trucking across the bridge we got back to the car and drove down to the dam. Someday I am going to go on the damn, I mean dam tour. The parking lot for campers was way to far for the dogs to walk in the hear, which was over 100 degrees. I took a bunch of pictures outside but it really looked so interesting to tour.

Next we only had a short 45 minutes drive to the Las Vegas KOA. The grounds were nice. I went to the site and unhitched the truck, next we found a Jiffy Lube and took the truck to have the oil changed. The light started coming on just as I was leaving Zion. Got some Starbucks and drove around Las Vegas for a bit.
