November 1: Probowlers are Different than Pro Bowlers

Today we decided to go bowling. Bob played on a league - he still has his ball and shoes. I played on a league in high school, but have no idea where my shoes or ball are. The last time I bowled was when the kids were pretty young. They did summer bowling. So we know bowling is fun, so we decide to go. We went to The Concourse in Anaheim. I think one of the very last times we bowed was at The Concourse. Now you don't buy games, you buy hours. So we bought one hour and rented one pair of shoes, for me, $32 - bowling is no longer a cheap way to pass the time. We played two games. After I threw the ball, (10 lbs.) three or five times, my finger was really bruised - so I tried a lighter ball. You have to throw a lighter ball twice as hard to get any kind of pin action. So I began rolling the ball - baby or granny style. With the heavier ball I actually did okay that way - easier on the fingers that is for sure, but I still kept hooking it to the left. Probably because I'm like that guy in the movie, "Lady in the Water." If you saw the movie there is a guy who only works out his right arm, so his right arm is really strong. My right arm is stronger than my left, that could be why I kept hooking it to the left.

Bob had a slow start, but really improved as the frames went by. He is a second half of the game player, but he comes on strong after the first half. At one point he had four strikes and two spares in a row. Watching him bow was really nice - he has a good physique and a fairly hard body for a 67 year old. He still has his hair, and he is fastideous about his teeth. I like it when his jeans fit him more snug, especially while watching him bowl. :0)

So before I end this - I have a funny story. Those of you who know me, know that I like football. It was one thing Ben and I enjoyed together. Well when I was over the age of 20, but less than the age of 40 I discovered that the players who were named, probowlers were not in fact football players who were also professional bowlers - TRUE Story - Don't make fun of me. I guess probowlers who are football players have played in the Pro Bowl at the end of the season. My idiocy never ceases to amaze me. Hahaha!
