Today’s post is dedicated to Ben.

I wish I could make him realize that he’s worthy of being loved. That he is my world. That I think of him every single night before I sleep and every single morning when I wake. That I nearly die with yearning thinking of his arms around me. Adapted from a quote by Bliss.

Day 2 was fairly uneventful -lots of driving. On my way from Quartzite to Red Rock Crossing in Sedona there were constant reminders of Ben and the life we shared living in Arizona for nearly 10 years, as well as all ou trips alone and with family to Sedona. Every time I see the red rock formations of Sedona my breath is taken away. 360 degrees of beauty. The quiet is a blessing. The views are a miracle. For the peace I feel in my heart here there are no words. Sedona (as well as Cambria, CA) we’re always special to Ben and I. we thought of moving to each of these locations over the years- dreaming of retirement. 😥 The boys and I took a hike up a trail to see the views, watching and listening for rattlesnakes. Before leaving home I clipped and bathed all the dogs, so Bobby was all clean and white. After our hike his paws and his little booty were bright orange! 😂🤣 Hysterical. Made it to Holbrook KOA for the night, which is on Old Route 66. Tomorrow the painted desert and the Petrified Forest.

I’m so enjoying following your adventure. Your words and your pictures continue to be eye opening and fun. Kind of makes me want to hop in the car and follow your path. keep enjoying the nice people you meet and ignore the weirdos.

I remember when Barb and I went with you and Dad to Sedona. Good memories. ❤️ That’s when I had Barb take that photo of Dad and I on that precarious rock formation. (the photo that hung in his office for awhile) I remember he loved doing stuff like that.… pushing the limits and doing risky things that would make everyone around him nervous. I think he liked showing that he wasn’t scared.
