Today’s post is dedicated to my grandson, Landon. He knows what he wants and he lets everyone know it. I have no idea where this characteristic came from. ;0) To call him stubborn, would be unkind - he’s just not willing to compromise his standards. As he grows, I’m sure he will find appropriate ways to make his feelings and needs known. :0) Love you, Landon! Continue to be your authentic self.

Authenticity

“It takes courage to be yourself in a world where you are constantly told that who you are isn’t enough. Being yourself is the biggest gift you can offer yourself and others. Be brave enough to show the world who you are without an apology.” Ash Alves

What a mess. The campsite was so muddy and the gravelly dust splashed up and made everything look like it was covered in wet cement. I had to take the dogs out of course for their morning walk. We all came back with our feet full of mud. Doesn’t do any good to try to clean it off. It’s like clay, just stuck on. So of course the first thing they both did upon entering the camper was to jump on the bed. Yuck! Packed up quick as I could to leave that mess behind.

First stop today was in Midland, Michigan, home of the Tridge, which is a three way bridge. It’s actually quite pretty. Each way leads to something different. One for hiking and biking on trails. Another for strolling, eating a picnic lunch or on Sundays, the Farmer’s Market. The third leads a to a water pad and playground for the kids, but also an enormous dog park - one very large park for small dogs and one even larger for large dogs. We were the only ones there so we just ran around all over both sides. Bobby was hopping around like he just saw grass for the first time. Ran into some locals who had Starbucks and they directed me to the nearest one. :0) Jean-Luc is slowing down. I tried to get him to run around, but he just trotted and stopped. He’s trying to act nonchalant about it. Like when he stops he looks around like he just heard something really important, but his tongue is hanging out a log quicker these days. Sometimes I swear I see Ben in his eyes or in the tilt of his head or a silly expression. The psychic did say that he can see Ben. When I lose him it will be like losing Ben again.

Second stop was supposed to be the Motown Museum, which I was really looking forward to. Found it. Took some pictures of the outside, then saw the hours of operation on the door - CLOSED on Tuesdays. There goes my timing again - so disappointed because the latest exhibit was for the 50th anniversary of Marvin Gaye’s song, What’s Going On.

Third stop today was at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. This place is huge. They’ve made it a whole town called Greenfield Village where you can visit various inventors moments of inspiration, ingenuity, and perseverance. There is also a tour of a Ford-150 manufacturing plant. That’s going to be my next vehicle. Doesn’t this place sound awesome? Sounds like a great field trip for kids to me - totally STEM. Well here I go again. They were only open to “members of the museum” on Tuesdays. I really want to come back to Detroit. I’m going to have to look at my return trip itinerary.

Well it’s all okay - just gottta roll with it. We made it to Monroe, Michigan and our stop for the night at Harbortown RV Resort. Just as nice as the KOAs. I washed my bedspread full of muddy footprints from this morning, as well as my rugs. The dogs had a nice lay in the sun while I swept out the camper. Then when I was doing the wash, I laid by the pool and took a dip. Too many people in the pool - I get a bit germaphobic in these situations, so in and out to cool off - then a shower before dinner. Took the dogs out for a walk after dinner and off to bed. Tomorrow I’ll be in Ohio for the day.
