Today's post is dedicated to laughter - Jackie and I have laughed so much together since I've been here. What a great attitude. Just spending time together makes me feel better. Laughing is a kind of therapy. It try is the best medicine. We laugh at ourselves - each other, and nothing.
"Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects." - Arnold H. Glasow
"Some days you eat salads and go to the gym, some days you eat cupcakes and refuse to put on pants. - It's called balance. - Your Tango
So today I washed clothes - bedding - towels. Everything is a mess because of the rain - dog paws - dog hair, and farm grit. Jackie and I went to town for containers for my truck bed - I don't want to have everything just jostling around back there while I'm driving. We also went to the Price Chopper for a few groceries. I think I spent $180. Well I needed to stock up because I'm leaving on Friday for the road.
Terry had to go to town for his football clinic where his players help coach the little leaguers. Later we had to leave the house at 8:00 to get to Albany airport to pick up Aaron at 9:30. Nothing is close by here, so you have to plan out when you go places. On the way we saw two deer and what I first thought was a dead animal in the middle of the road, but it was actually a snapping turtle. So how did the snapping turtle cross the road? Slowly, very slowly.
We got to the airport just as his plane was landing. Then an hour and a half drive back to the farm. I love Jackie - she stayed up to meet and welcome Aaron. He told me later that the hug she gave him felt like he'd known her forever. That's just who she is. We stayed up a bit just to adjust, then Terry showed Aaron where he would sleep - bathroom, etc. So hospitable. I'm so glad to have Aaron here, even if it is only for a short time.
