Today's post is dedicated to a good night's sleep, which I haven't had in several days. You can eat right, get plenty of exercise, take care of your body, mind and soul, but without a good rest, none of that other stuff matters. Good sleep contributes to a healthy heart, the continued release of certain essential, cancer preventing hormones, decrease in inflammation, and an increase in creativity.

Goodbye

Hello

That's Sean.
Last night was the first night that it did not rain - yep! But, I could not sleep. I guess it could have been the coffee ice cream that I had for dinner - or - possibly the incredible sadness I've been feeling about the loss of my father. Not the actual physical loss, but the emotional loss of the father I thought he was. I could choose to believe that it is the old age - dementia - alzheimers - whatever, but that would not account for the past 30 years or the embezzling money from the family taxidermy business, or the selfish attitude that alienates everyone. I promised someone that I would give praying and Jesus a chance in my life. So, I bought a journal of Bible versus for each day of the year. I read the verse - ponder it - and write a response about how it might apply to my life. Here is my problem - dilemma, I guess. When I see so much hypocrisy among so called Christians and self proclaimed religious people, it makes me seek solace in other places - medication - the God within me - the Universe - Mother Nature. I really can't stand it when the very people who are supposedly modeling their lives after Christ, act unkindly towards their fellow man, lie, cheat, steal, and put themselves on a pedestal to look down on others.
So, let me talk about something more pleasant. I traded in my Explorer and bought a new truck; a Ford F150 4x4. It's a 2018, but such a better vehicle than the Explorer for my purposes - well because - my purposes have changed. It has a full tow package, which I had installed on the Explorer for $2500. It has brake assist to the trailer, which I had installed on the Explorer for $700. It has trailer back up assist and it can tow up to 10,000 pounds. The Explorer's towing capacity was 4,000 pounds and my trailer weights $3,500 pounds dry. The new truck has 8 cylinders and the Explorer only has 6. Therefore I was operating at the absolute limit of the Explorer's capacity. I feel safer in the F150.
I got my laundry done. Dinner was chips and guacamole. We watched the movie, The Other Missy. So funny and so dirty.
