Today's post is dedicated to vacay time. All day long I've thought it was Tuesday and it turns out that it is Friday. I've slowed down so much I went backwards by three days. ;0) I know that my teacher friends and my grandchildren are back in school, but I know that I am really embracing this retirement life because yesterday when I was at Target I didn't have the urge to go down the "Back to School" aisles. Yay me!

This is right across the highway from my RV Park

This reminds of the Ed Sheeran song, Give Me Love

I have no idea what that strange shape is on the top of that roof that is blurred out. I swear there was nothing there when I took the picture.

Public beach that provides seating and umbrellas.

Those are nets in his hands.

One of the long, long bridges connecting Biloxi to the mainland.

Just a pretty church I noticed. I bet it is pretty from the inside with all that stained glass.

You don't expect to see a museum devoted to O'Keefe in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Cute cottages

This townhouse is right on the beach. An end unit with a little yard in the back. 2 bed, 2.5 bath, 1,495 sqft $230,000

Just relaxing at home after a long day of sightseeing.

Today we got up fairly early. I took a shower and then went to organize the storage compartment of my trailer. Not much breeze today and humidity is high. 90 degrees and 91% humidity. So after I organized, I felt like I needed another shower. To stay out of the heat mostly I decided to go sight-seeing. Took the dogs for a walk on the I-110 Loop - a boardwalk that was being utilized by several fisherfolk. They had caught a 30 pound red fin. They also catch small sharks, and white fish. We went to Sharkheads Shop to get a t-shirt and to take some pictures. We went to a park near the long long bridge from the mainland and the Maritime Museum. We walked around the grounds of the OHR-O'Keefe Museum of Art - not open, but somethings were interesting. I want to come back when it's open to hear the music in Pod#4. Some of the restaurants are amusing to look at on the main Beach Boulevard. There was Shaggy's where again Jean-Luc would not get in the chair. There are at least four Waffle House restaurants. Apparently Mississippians enjoy their waffles. Then there is Slap Ya Momma's...Barbecue. I plan to order from there tonight because...well it seems wrong not to when in Mississippi do as...
Then I went to look at some cottages. I took some pictures of some cute ones, but you have to know that right next door to many are shacks. I don't understand how people can live like that. I'm not being rude or disrespectful. There are so many restaurants, stores, hotels, and casinos here and they all have help wanted signs. It isn't that there isn't enough work. It's just strange to me what people will accept in the daily lives, like they just don't deserve better.
While the dogs are napping, I'm going to go to the grocery store. Need eggs, cereal, and dog food. I'll pick up the Slap Ya Momma's BBQ while I'm out.
I ordered the Piggy Melt: Slow smoked pulled pork, American cheese & bacon on Texas toast. Dressed with Carolina Gold sauce. There wasn't any Carolina Gold sauce on the sandwich, but there was some on the fries. The dogs loved their half of the sandwich and my half was pretty darn good. I didn't care for the fries though. I cheated and had a Margarita with my dinner. Just a farewell to Mississippi. I'm off to Louisiana tomorrow, home of the New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees, one of my favorite football players. Remember when they were the Ain'ts because they were on such a bad losing streak when Archie Manning, father of Peyton and Eli Manning was the quarterback? He was actually a great quarterback, he just didn't have a good team around him. I think that might have been Eli's problem at first, but then his heart just wasn't in it. Also, how could he compete with his brother? Peyton is just smarter and so charismatic. If you're not a football fan, sorry for the aside. I love football - thanks to Ben.
